Sensei Lilia was born in 1985 in the city of Cricova, Moldova. She also had a great experience at the Children’s Services Department of the Government of Alberta.
Karate is a very important part of her life. At the age of 9, she began to practice Traditional Karate. During her time in Moldova, Sensei Stefan Cravcescu, Sensei Anton Ignat, Sensei Hidetaka Nishiyama, and Sensei Wlodzimierz Kwiecinski were among her teachers who helped her on her journey of learning and perfecting the art of Shotokan Karate.
In her early karate career, she concentrated on competition (kumite and kata), and is very proud of her achievements. She has performed in the Moldova National Championship and was chosen to represent her country six times in a row in the European Championship: Russia, Romania, Macedonia, Poland, Malta, and Slovenia, where she performed at a high level and took high distinctions.
In 2013, her family came to Canada to pursue her dreams, and in 2017, she started to teach karate. Since 2018, she has been an Associate of the AB/BC-JKA Karate with a SANDAN diploma. In addition to teaching karate, she is enrolled in the JKA Instructor’s Cohort with Sensei Don Sharp.
Her main character traits are stubbornness and determination in pursuit of the goal. The most important motto is self-improvement through training and putting your whole heart into what you do. Her enthusiasm spreads to others. She does her work with passion, dedication, and commitment. She easily establishes connections with people, especially with children. In others, she values loyalty the most.
Though she has tried in several activities, karate is her first love. She enjoys teaching and helping her students discover the wonderful Art of Karate!
